My Take
What strikes me about Bob McGrath is the quiet heroism of consistency. Playing Bob Johnson on Sesame Street from 1969 to 2016 isn't a role, it's a 47-year act of devotion to children he would never meet. I find that more impressive than any awards shelf. He turned songs into gentle lessons about kindness and language for generation after generation. When he passed in 2022 at 90, the tributes weren't about fame but about warmth, and that tells you everything. He chose to matter quietly, and that, to me, is a rarer kind of greatness than stardom.
