My Take
Carrying the Cronenberg name could crush a young filmmaker, but Brandon has carved out something genuinely his own. Born in Toronto in 1980, he inherited his father David's fascination with bodies and contagion, yet Antiviral, Possessor and Infinity Pool feel colder, more digital, more attuned to our era of identity and surveillance. I admire that he never coasts on legacy; instead he digs into uncomfortable, clinical horror that lingers. To me he is proof that influence can be a foundation rather than a shadow, and I am genuinely curious to see how far his particular brand of unease can go.
