Brian Tyree Henry

Brian Tyree Henry is one of those actors who commands the frame the instant he appears, a presence rooted in serious stage training out of Morehouse College. The Oscar nod, the Tony, the three Emmy nominations all confirm he can steal scenes even in supporting roles. What I love most is the delicacy hiding inside that imposing frame, the way his eyes carry tenderness and pain at once. Few actors can hold both simultaneously. I am convinced he is only getting started, and I expect him to keep growing into bigger, heavier roles. He is a slow-burning, genuine talent worth watching.
