Buck Angel

I have enormous respect for people who turn their own lives into their work, and Buck Angel is a striking example. A Los Angeles native and transsexual man, he moved from pornography into sex education and advocacy, serving on the board of the Woodhull Freedom Foundation. What impresses me is the range of that arc and the courage behind it: speaking openly about his body and his story in the face of prejudice and misunderstanding takes uncommon conviction. He insists on visibility on his own terms, and that unflinching honesty is something I genuinely admire.
