C.C. DeVille

C.C. DeVille is pure spectacle, and I mean that as a compliment. The Brooklyn-born guitarist defined the sound of Poison, a band that moved over 65 million albums and stands as a glittering emblem of the glam-metal years. Born Bruce Johannesson, he chose a stage name a hundred times more rock and roll, and he has since spilled into both reality and scripted television. I am drawn to performers who commit fully to the theater of being a star. There is an honesty in that excess, and I cannot help but enjoy his unapologetic flamboyance.
