My Take
Cam Akers is a player who pulls for my sympathy and my respect in equal measure. Out of Clinton, Mississippi and Florida State, drafted in the second round by the Rams, his defining chapter is the 2021 Achilles tear, an injury that usually erases a whole season. Instead he returned for the playoffs and was part of a Super Bowl championship run, which is frankly absurd in the best way.
