Capucine

Capucine intrigues me as a study in contradictions. Born Germaine Lefebvre on the French Riviera, she carried that cool, feline elegance you expect of a Parisian model, yet she was also genuinely funny, holding her own in comedies like The Pink Panther and What's New Pussycat? French beauty on screen often reads as aloof; she let warmth and mischief peek through. Behind the poise, though, was real fragility, and her death in 1990 lends her films a haunting undertow. That blend of strength and vulnerability in her gaze is what keeps me coming back to her work.
