My Take

Schmitt is one of those prospects whose glove gets scouts genuinely excited, and his defensive reputation preceded him long before he debuted. I like players who can pick it at multiple infield spots, and that versatility is exactly what makes him a useful piece for the Giants. The bat has been the question mark, as it often is for defense-first infielders, but there's clear upside if he can settle in offensively. He's an easy player to root for if you value the parts of the game that don't always show up in the box score.
