My Take
What grabs me about Cazzu is the geography of her rise. Coming out of Fraile Pintado in Argentina's far-north Jujuy province, and clawing her way to being called the queen of Latin trap is no small thing. I'd rather credit the nerve it took for a provincial woman to force open a male-dominated rap scene with nothing but her voice and attitude. That she's also described as a poet and writer tells me the lyrics carry real weight beneath the swagger. I find that combination of grit and craft genuinely compelling.
