Chin Han

Chin Han interests me as a bridge-builder. Singapore-raised and educated at the National University of Singapore, he moved from stage work into a film and television career spanning over two decades, then quietly carved out a place in Hollywood blockbusters like The Dark Knight and Contagion. That is no small feat for an Asian actor of his generation, when such doors rarely opened. I value performers who hold the screen without demanding it, and he strikes me as exactly that kind of presence. He represents a generation of Asian talent that internationalized cinema before it became fashionable, and that earns my genuine respect.
