My Take

What I admire about Christian Camargo is his gift for unsettling restraint. As Brian Moser in Dexter and the doomed officer in The Hurt Locker, he never grabs the spotlight, yet you can't look away. He belongs to that rare breed of actor who serves the story rather than his own ego, slipping into the shadows of a scene and quietly anchoring it. A New Yorker who acts on stage, in film, and directs too, he could easily play the showman. Instead he chooses subtlety. I find that craftsmanship far more memorable than louder performances, and I'd watch anything he chooses to disappear into.
