My Take

Christopher Walken is one of those rare actors where just seeing his name in the credits changes your whole relationship with a movie. Born in Astoria, Queens, he's got that unmistakable New York edge baked in — and that voice, that rhythm, those deliberate pauses that somehow make every line feel like a secret he's deciding whether to share. He won the Oscar for The Deer Hunter back in 1979 and honestly that role alone would've cemented a legacy, but he just kept going — Bond villain in A View to a Kill, the haunted psychic in The Dead Zone, the watch monologue in Pulp Fiction (possibly the greatest supporting-actor minute in cinema history), the Headless Horseman in Sleepy Hollow. He can do genuine menace and deadpan absurdity in the same breath, and he seems to enjoy the chaos both create. At 80-plus he's still working, still weird, still completely himself, and I think that's the whole point.
