My Take

You may not know the name Chuck Lorre, but somewhere right now someone is watching something he built. The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, Young Sheldon, Dharma and Greg, The Kominsky Method, the title King of Sitcoms is more than earned. What I love is the detail that he started as a composer in Bethpage, New York, because it explains the musical rhythm and tempo of his dialogue, the way the jokes land on the beat. He is practically a comedy factory, but my real respect is for the stamina, decades on the front line of making people laugh. That kind of longevity simply cannot be faked.

Charles Michael Lorre ( LOR-ee; né Levine; born October 18, 1952) is an American television producer, writer, director, and composer. Nicknamed the "King of Sitcoms", Lorre has created/co-created and produced many sitcoms including Cybill (1995–1998), Dharma & Greg (1997–2002), Two and a Half Men (2003–2015), The Big Bang Theory (2007–2019), and Mom (2013–2021). He also served as an executive producer of Roseanne.
