My Take

Reed is the kind of athlete I quietly pull for: a pitcher who tasted the majors with the Reds and Rays, then kept his arm alive in the independent Atlantic League with the High Point Rockers. There is something honest about a left-hander from Horn Lake, Mississippi who refuses to put the ball down once the bright lights dim. I respect the stubbornness more than any stat line.
