My Take
Moffett strikes me as a true actor's actor. Stanford-trained, he cut his teeth on Chicago stages before stepping into the original 1985 production of Larry Kramer's The Normal Heart, a play that demanded real courage to perform amid the AIDS crisis. That theatrical backbone gives his screen work a quiet authority, and a 2001 Screen Actors Guild ensemble award confirms his peers' respect. He has even moved behind the camera as a director. There is nothing flashy here, just decades of disciplined, serious craft, and I find that kind of unshowy dedication genuinely worth celebrating.
