My Take
Danny DeVito is, to me, the ultimate proof that presence has nothing to do with stature. At 147 centimeters, with that gravelly voice and gleeful menace, he turned every physical trait Hollywood might have counted against him into signature assets. His Louie De Palma remains one of television's great comic monsters, but I respect the second act even more: directing, producing, and becoming an unlikely internet folk hero in his eighties. There is real intelligence under the clowning, a sharp sense of timing and darkness. Few careers argue so persuasively that charisma is a decision, not a gift of genetics.

Known for his short stature, raspy voice, distinct accent, and energetic comedy roles, he gained prominence for his portrayal of the taxi dispatcher Louie De Palma in the television series Taxi (1978–1983), which won him a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award.
