My Take
What moves me most about Danny Glover is not any single performance but the rare consistency between the man and the work. Plenty of actors talk about values; Glover built a five-decade career while actually living his, which is why the Academy handed him both an Honorary Award and the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award in the same year. As a screen presence he has always read to me as warmth with gravity, the kind of actor who makes everyone around him more believable. From San Francisco State to honorary Oscars, his is a career I would point young actors toward: longevity built on character, in both senses of the word.
