Dave Gahan

Dave Gahan fascinates me because he gives electronic music a beating heart. As Depeche Mode's frontman since 1980, his commanding baritone turns cold synth landscapes into something intimate and dangerous. Q magazine ranked him among the greatest frontmen, and watching him own a stage you understand why. What I respect most is his survival; he has weathered enormous personal turmoil and kept singing with the same gravity. For me he is proof that a great voice paired with raw presence can make machine music feel achingly human.
