Nozomi Ōhashi

I'll be honest, Nozomi Ōhashi is basically frozen in my memory as that tiny kid belting out the Ponyo theme, and I love that she lives there rent-free. That bright, almost impossibly cheerful little voice was inescapable in 2008, and there was something so disarming about a child star carrying a Ghibli song like it was no big deal. Born in Tokyo in 1999, she was the rare kind of kid talent who could act, sing, and voice work all at once without it feeling forced. What I quietly respect is that she didn't seem to cling to the spotlight; she grew up and chose her own life instead of being trapped as a permanent novelty. Honestly, that's the better ending. The voice, though? Still a little treasure I'm glad existed.
