My Take
What fascinates me about David Draiman is how he turned aggression into precision. That distorted baritone and percussive phrasing could have been gimmickry, but he wields them with real musical control, and his ability to carry a melody underneath the snarl is what separates him from countless metal screamers. I also find his Chicago-area upbringing and yeshiva education quietly compelling; it lends an unexpected gravity to his presence. Decades into fronting Disturbed, he still sounds like a man singing from the chest rather than performing rage. To me, he is one of modern metal's most distinctive and underrated vocal craftsmen.
