My Take

David Haye won me over with sheer nerve. A naturally sized cruiserweight who unified that division, then dared to bulk up and seize a world heavyweight title, he chose the harder, riskier path on purpose. At 191cm with a fight-ending punch, the Hayemaker brought genuine danger and showmanship to British boxing between 2002 and 2018. What I respect is the self-belief to gatecrash a heavier weight class rather than stay safe. He talks a big game, but he backed it with belts. Even in retirement he stays visible and unfiltered, and I rate that fearless, all-in mentality enormously.
