Denny Tamaki

A radio host who became a governor sounds like a punchline until you read the order of it. Okinawa City assembly, the House of Representatives in 2009, the first Amerasian to sit there, two terms as governor from 2018 to 2026. Born in Yonashiro to an American father, he was never able to treat the base question as abstract. Same voice, harder room.
