My Take

Dewi Sukarno is one of those lives that reads stranger than fiction. Born Naoko Nemoto in Tokyo, she became a wife of Indonesia's first president and reinvented herself again and again as a socialite, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and now even a YouTuber. What impresses me most is her composure and nerve. Her famously blunt remarks read to me as the confidence of someone who has navigated palaces and tabloids alike. To remain this poised and magnetic across so many decades and reinventions is, frankly, a feat I cannot help but admire.
