My Take

Disco Machine, born Michael Mondragon, earns my admiration not as a headliner but as a builder. Being one of the six founders of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla means he helped lay the foundation of an entire Southern California independent scene, and I always gravitate toward the people who create the stage rather than just stand on it. The ring name alone has a playful charm, but the real story is the grind of growing a promotion from nothing. I think these architects of a subculture deserve far more recognition than they usually get, and he has mine.
