DJ BoBo

DJ BoBo, born Peter Rene Baumann in Switzerland in 1968, fills me with nostalgia. A singer, rapper, dancer, and producer who sold fourteen million records and released a dozen studio albums, he was one of the defining voices of nineties Eurodance. Plenty of us, myself included, moved to those bouncing beats back then. What impresses me is that he never faded into one-hit-wonder territory; staying on the front line this long is the real mark of a craftsman. His Swiss Music Awards are well earned. I have deep respect for artists who keep trusting and building their own sound as trends shift around them.
