DJ Drama

What draws me to DJ Drama is that he made a career out of elevating other people's music. A Philadelphia native and Clark Atlanta graduate, he rose first as T.I.'s DJ and then became one of hip-hop's most trusted mixtape architects. I find that role quietly heroic. The artists get the spotlight, but the curator who knows which talent to amplify shapes the whole sound of a city. Atlanta's scene owes a lot to ears like his. I respect builders who win by sharpening others rather than chasing the front of the stage themselves.
