My Take

Dong Mingzhu is the kind of executive I instinctively trust, someone who rose from a sales role to chair one of China's largest appliance makers through sheer grit. Reaching the top of Gree was no accident of timing; her reputation as an iron-willed leader comes from knowing the factory floor before she ever ran the boardroom. I find that when a manufacturer is led by a person who understands the product down to the bolts, the conviction in their words carries real weight. Her blunt confidence and move into politics divide opinion, but there is an unmistakable consistency to her, and I respect leaders who climbed up the hard way.
