My Take
I'll be honest, I didn't expect to be writing a love letter to a guy who used to raise one eyebrow and tell people to know their role, but here we are. What gets me about Dwayne Johnson is the sheer reinvention of it all. He went from a wrestler the crowd actually booed to the most electrifying man in sports entertainment, and then somehow parlayed that charisma into being a genuine box-office machine. The Fast & Furious run, voicing Maui in Moana, the easy chemistry he brings to even forgettable popcorn flicks, it all works because the guy is so impossibly likable. Is some of it franchise filler?
