My Take
Oxana Fedorova is more interesting than her Miss Universe 2002 crown suggests. What strikes me is how she refused to be defined by a beauty title—singer, actor, model, a degree from a police academy, and even a turn toward politics. The crown was famously revoked, but I read that less as a stumble and more as someone choosing her own path over an imposed role. At 178 cm she won the world's top pageant, then kept reinventing herself. I find that refusal to stay in one lane genuinely admirable; she's harder to pin down than most, and better for it.
