My Take
Eric Close is one of those dependable actors I have quietly followed for years. His Martin Fitzgerald in Without a Trace was the role that fit him best, but his steady run through Now and Again, Nashville, and Suits shows a performer who anchors stories rather than dominating them. I respect that he also directs television, signaling a craftsman who understands the work from both sides of the camera. He is not a flashy star, yet that is precisely his value: shows feel safe in his hands. Longevity in this industry is a kind of trust, and Close has clearly earned it.
