Fenriz

Fenriz earns my deep respect as one of the architects of Norwegian black metal through Darkthrone. What I find most compelling isn't just the music but the obsessive guardianship around it: working as a music journalist and running his own radio show, he behaves like a true keeper of the scene. Singer, guitarist, songwriter and DJ, he treats every role as one continuous devotion to the underground. In an era of relentless self-promotion, his stubborn refusal to chase commercial polish feels almost heroic to me. He comes across as a solitary, uncompromising explorer, and I admire that purity completely.
