Fred Durst

Fred Durst is one of those guys you can't really separate from a specific moment in time — the late '90s to early 2000s, when nu-metal was everywhere and Limp Bizkit was somehow both the most hated and most unavoidable band on the planet. I remember that red backwards cap like it was a cultural landmark, and honestly? The combination of hip-hop swagger and distorted guitar crunch that he and the band cooked up on albums like Significant Other hit different when you were young and angry and didn't care about being cool. The fact that he pivoted into film directing on top of everything else shows there's more going on than just the shouting frontman act.
