My Take
To me, George Lynch is the kind of player whose tone tells you everything about him before he even bends a note. Coming out of Spokane and tearing through the 1980s with Dokken, he never sounded like he was chasing a trend; he sounded like a man obsessed with the feel under his fingers. What I respect most is the longevity. Long after the hair-metal spotlight moved on, he kept building Lynch Mob and kept playing with that signature, almost vocal phrasing. He is a guitarist's guitarist, and I find that quiet stubbornness genuinely admirable.
