Gilbert Arenas

Gilbert Arenas is one of the most compelling characters the NBA has produced, and I mean that as high praise. Drafted 31st in 2001 out of Arizona, written off as a second-rounder, he wore number zero precisely because people told him he'd amount to nothing, then won Most Improved Player in 2003 and became a star. That chip on his shoulder fascinates me. His career had its turbulence, but the same fearless candor that made him 'Agent Zero' now fuels his blogging and broadcasting, where he speaks his mind without filter. I find his blend of grit, humor, and honesty genuinely magnetic.
