My Take
Calling Moroder the Father of Disco almost undersells him; he essentially drafted the blueprint for modern electronic dance music, and you can trace hi-NRG, Italo disco, synth-pop, house and techno back to his synthesizer experiments. Three Academy Awards across score and song, plus a Grammy and Italy's Order of Merit, mark a career that shaped whole eras rather than merely riding trends. What moves me is that so much of what plays in clubs today is, knowingly or not, descended from his inventions. Born in a small South Tyrol town, he became a quiet architect of global sound, and I hold him in deep respect.
