Giveon

Giveon's voice is the whole argument for me. That deep, unhurried baritone out of Long Beach is instantly his and nobody else's, and since Like I Want You broke through he has become a genuine pillar of modern R&B. What I appreciate is the restraint: he leans into mood, loneliness, and grown-up melancholy instead of chasing whatever trend is loud that week. There is a jazz-tinged patience to his music that rewards late-night, solo listening. In a crowded field he stands out simply by trusting his lowest register, and I expect that voice to age beautifully.
