My Take
What draws me to Glen Hansard is how little daylight there is between the busker and the Oscar winner. He never sanded off the rough Dublin edges, and that texture is exactly why his songs land. The Frames built a loyal Irish following the slow way, and The Swell Season's aching folk still floors me on repeat listens. Plenty of musicians dabble in acting; few carry such unguarded honesty into both. I respect that he seems allergic to self-promotion, letting the work speak. To me he is proof that a quiet, unhurried career can outlast louder ones.
