My Take
I find Greg Gagne fascinating mostly because of the shadow he had to step out from. Being Verne Gagne's son in the AWA could have meant a free ride, but instead I think it set an impossibly high bar. What I respect is that he carved out his own identity through the High Flyers, his tag team with Jim Brunzell in the late 1970s and early 1980s. That speed-and-finesse style felt ahead of its time to me. He never quite reached his father's legendary status, but honestly, building a real career out of a Minnesota wrestling dynasty while constantly being measured against a parent is its own kind of achievement.
