My Take
Dudamel is, to me, simply in a league of his own. Born in Barquisimeto, Venezuela, he rose through El Sistema, the program that puts instruments in the hands of underprivileged kids, all the way to the summit of classical music. Leading the LA Philharmonic and set to take the New York Philharmonic in 2026, he is now a genuine main character of the genre. His whole-body, wild-haired conducting raises my pulse just to watch. A conductor with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star is rare. He proves music belongs to everyone, and that earns my deepest respect.
