Hideaki Takizawa

What interests me about Hideaki Takizawa is the exit. Born in Hachiōji, Tokyo in 1982, he began acting in 1995 and made his musical debut in 2002 as half of Tackey & Tsubasa with Tsubasa Imai — a face that could have earned a living for another thirty years without changing anything. Instead he stepped off the stage, moved into directing and producing, and now runs the talent agency Tobe as its president. That order of operations is rare. Almost nobody walks away from applause while the applause is still loud. Going from the person being cheered to the person building the thing people cheer for means trading an immediate reward for a slower, far less flattering one. I suspect that took more nerve than any performance ever did.
