Jacob Tremblay

Jacob Tremblay won me over with Room, where he gave us a child seeing the world for the first time with a clarity most adult actors never reach. That he did this around age eight, holding his own opposite Brie Larson, was simply staggering. Born in 2006 in Vancouver, he has since shown real intelligence in choosing roles that grow with him, from Wonder to Good Boys. I do not buy the cliché that child stars must fade. He has the instincts to keep reinventing himself, and I plan to follow how he navigates the tricky leap into young adulthood.
