My Take
Jeremy "Fly Guy" Lamb earned that nickname honestly. Out of Norcross, Georgia, the 196 cm guard was the second-leading scorer on UConn's 2011 national championship team as a freshman, then went first round to the Houston Rockets in the 2012 NBA Draft. I can still picture that long, smooth jumper and the airborne finishes that made his game a pleasure to watch. His pro career may not have followed a straight superstar arc, but the brilliance he showed lifting a powerhouse to a title was the real thing. I like to remember talents for the moments they truly soared, and Lamb gave us plenty.
