Jessica Stam

Jessica Stam belongs to a very specific moment in fashion, and I think that is what makes her interesting. The "doll face" cohort she defined helped reshape the look of the late 2000s runway, and her wide-eyed, slightly otherworldly presence was genuinely distinctive in an industry that prizes sameness. Forbes ranking her among the top-earning supermodels confirms she was commercially serious, not merely photogenic. Coming out of small-town Kincardine, Ontario, to that level is no small feat. To me, being remembered as a singular face rather than an interchangeable one is the rarest currency a model can possess.
