Jewel De'Nyle

What strikes me about Jewel De'Nyle is the trajectory from performer to director. Plenty of people get inducted into Halls of Fame, but she earned spots in the NightMoves, AVN, and XRCO ones while also stepping behind the camera to build her own productions. That move from being framed to doing the framing reflects an ambition I respect regardless of the industry. A petite woman from Wetmore, Colorado, asserting creative control in a male-dominated field is no small thing. She has since retired, but I read her career as one shaped by agency rather than circumstance, and that distinction matters to me.
