JID

JID is one of the sharpest pure lyricists to come out of Atlanta, which is saying something in a city better known for melody and vibe than dense bars. His flow is dizzying, he packs syllables in like few rappers alive, but he never sacrifices storytelling for technical flash. The Forever Story is a genuine modern classic, layered, personal, and impeccably produced. Signing to Dreamville put him in the right ecosystem, and his guest verses regularly steal songs from bigger names. I think he is one of those artists whose reputation among heads is still ahead of his mainstream profile, and that gap is going to close. Elite talent.
