My Take

Joao Rojas interests me as a footballer who turned a hometown most fans have never heard of, La Troncal in Ecuador's Cañar Province, into a launchpad for a genuinely international career. A winger built for that classic South American verticality, he has carried his game across borders, even acquiring Mexican citizenship along the way. At 173 cm he relies on quickness rather than size, and the fact that he is still on the pitch with ADT tells me his hunger has not faded. I find something deeply likable about a player who keeps competing far from home, carrying his roots with him.
