My Take
Joe Murray strikes me as a quietly subversive genius of children's animation. As the creator of Rocko's Modern Life, he proved that a kids' show could carry surreal humor and sly adult wit beneath its cartoon surface, and that balance is genuinely hard to pull off. Two Emmy wins for Camp Lazlo confirm his craft, while Let's Go Luna! shows a generous range into educational fare. What I respect most is that he ran his own studio and kept blogging and writing, refusing to surrender his authorial voice to commercial pressure. He is a creator who shaped a generation's imagination on his own terms.
