My Take

Jonny Greenwood is, to me, one of the most quietly important musicians alive. The feral guitar on Creep made his name, but his real genius is the refusal to stay in one lane. Co-founding Radiohead with his brother Colin, then pivoting into film scoring with those nerve-shredding strings for Paul Thomas Anderson, and even taking a Silver Bear in Berlin, he proves that rock instinct and orchestral discipline can live in one mind. I find that range thrilling. Artists who outgrow their own job title are the ones I trust most, and he keeps doing it.
