My Take

What fascinates me about Josh Allen is the sheer improbability of his path. Overlooked out of high school in a small California farming town, he ground his way through junior college at Reedley before Wyoming finally gave him a stage, and the Bills bet on him seventh overall in 2018. I love quarterbacks who play like they remember being doubted, and Allen does — every scramble and downfield heave carries a chip on the shoulder. At 196 centimeters he is built like a tight end yet throws with total abandon. To me he is the best argument that development beats pedigree, and I find his story genuinely energizing.
