My Take
I have a soft spot for careers shaped like Josh McCown's. A 6-foot-4 quarterback born in Jacksonville, Texas, in 1979, he survived in the NFL not as a flashy star but as a durable journeyman, bouncing between rosters and earning trust along the way. Now coaching with the Vikings, he embodies the kind of player who becomes a mentor figure for younger quarterbacks long before he formally takes the headset. I admire athletes who build their reputation on reliability rather than highlight reels, and McCown's natural transition from competitor to teacher tells me exactly why locker rooms valued him for so long.
